There was a great Saint by the name of Shaykh Ahmad Jaam (Radiallahu Ta’ala Anh) who used to travel on a lion wherever he went. In every city that he visited it was his habit to ask the people of the city to send one cow for his lion’s meal. One day he travelled to Baghdad, and sent one of his disciples to Hazrat Ghaus E Azam Shaykh Abdul Qadir al-Jilani Alayhi Rahma and commanded that a cow be sent to him, as a meal for his lion.

The great Ghaus (Radiallahu Ta’ala Anh) was already aware of his coming and had already arranged for a cow to be kept for the lion. He sent one of his disciples with the cow to Shaykh Ahmad Jaam (Radiallahu Ta’ala Anh) and as the disciple took the cow with him, a weak and old stray dog which used to sit outside the home of Hazrat Ghaus E Azam Shaykh Abdul Qadir al-Jilani Alayhi Rahma followed him. The disciple presented the cow to Shaikh Ahmad Jaam (Radiallahu Ta’ala Anh) who signalled to the lion to commence feeding. As the lion ran towards the cow, this weak old dog pounced on the lion. It caught the lion by its throat and killed it by tearing open its stomach.

The dog then dragged the lion and threw it before Hazrat Ghaus E Azam Shaykh Abdul Qadir al-Jilani Alayhi Rahma. On seeing this, Shaykh Ahmad Jaam (Radiallahu Ta’ala Anh) humbled himself before the great Ghaus (Radiallahu Ta’ala Anh) and asked for forgiveness for his arrogant behaviour. This shows the strength of a weak old dog due to its Nisbath (connection) with the blessed stoop of Hazrat Ghaus E Azam Shaykh Abdul Qadir al-Jilani Alayhi Rahma. It also shows that even animals recognize and are loyal to the Awliya Allah.

Shaykh Muhammad al-Yaqoubi on the Sufi Masters

Shaykh Muhammad al-Yaqoubi on the Sufi Masters  :

About Shaykh Muhammad al-Yaqoubi Hafizullah Ta’ala :

Born in Damascus on the 13th of Dhul Hijja, 1382 AH (1963 CE), Shaykh Sayyid Muhammad Abul Huda al-Yaqoubi is from a noble family of scholars that descend from the Prophet Muhammad (may Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him). From this household have emerged numerous renowned men of Allah who have taught the sacred sciences for many centuries. Shaykh Muhammad’s father, the light of Damascus and master of the Islamic disciplines, Sayyid Ibrahim al-Yaqoubi, was one of the greatest scholars of The Levant in recent times.

Shaykh Muhammad’s grandfather was a great scholar and Gnostic, Sayyid Ismail al-Yaqoubi; his father’s maternal uncle was Shaykh Arabi al-Yaqoubi and his paternal uncle was the famous Gnostic, Shaykh Sharif al-Yaqoubi. Amongst his blessed ancestors, three have held the Maliki Imamate at the Grand Umayyad Mosque in Damascus – may Allah envelope them all in His mercy.

Shaykh Muhammad traces his lineage back to the Prophet Muhammad (may Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him) through the great Mawlay Idris al-Anwar who built the city of Fes, a descendant of Sayyiduna al-Hasan the Second, who is the son of Sayyiduna al-Hasan (may Allah be pleased with him), the grandson of the Prophet (may Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him) and son of Sayyiduna Ali ibn Abi Talib (may Allah ennoble his countenance).

All Praises is due to Allah Almighty SubHanuhu wa Ta’ala, choicest Salams and Salutations upon His Beloved Habib, Sayyiduna Muhammadur-Rasulullah SallAllahu Alaihi wa Sallam, his noble family, the illustrious Sahabah and distinguished Awliya Ridwanullahi Ta’ala Alaihim Ajma’een.

A rich store of information about Gawth al-Aazam is conveniently available, to those familiar with the religious and spiritual tradition of Islam, in his names, his surnames, and the many titles conferred upon him by his devoted followers. It is not unusual for these to take up several lines in an Arabic manuscript, but let us start with the short form of His name:

There are many narrations of predecessor Masha’ikh approximately 100 years before the birth of Sayyiduna Ghawth al-A’zam Radi Allahu Ta’ala Anho who foretold that shortly there will be born in ‘Ajam [non-Arab state] a person who will announce that his foot is on the necks of all the Awliya-Allah. On his announcement, all the Awliya will place their heads under his feet and enter the shadow of his sacred feet.

AlaHadrat Imam Ash-Shah Ahmad Rida Khan al-Qadiri have quoted many narrations and annotations in this regard from which 11 (Eleven) will be presented below in accordance to the Qadiri number (11) with a hope that the Sublime Lord SubHanuhu wa Ta’ala will bless us with the Barakaat of both the Worlds… in sha ALLAH!!

Journey of a Seeker of Sacred Knowledge

Proclaiming “Ya Shaykh Abd al-Qadir al-Jilani”

https://fbcdn-sphotos-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-snc6/200178_10150111229865334_672380333_7053870_2927178_n.jpg

Few amongst the people use to object that to proclaim “Ya Shaykh Abd al-Qadir Jilani” is Shirk because one is making partnership with Allah Ta’ala (committing Shirk) by asking for assistance from the creation of Allah Ta’ala. They say that one can only ask directly from Allah Ta’ala. The Ahle Sunnah wa Jama’at believes that it is absolutely permissible to say “Ya Shaykh Abd al Qaadir Jilani” when asking for assistance from those servants of Allah Ta’ala whom He has appointed as helpers of the Ummah.

We understand from the verse

اِیَّاکَ نَعْبُدُ وَ اِیَّاکَ نَسْتَعِیۡنُ
You alone we worship and from You alone we seek help (and may we always).

which is found in Surah Fatiha, that the True Helper is Allah Ta’ala. But it is Allah Ta’ala who has appointed helpers from within His servants to assist the creation with His…

Shaykh Muhammad al-Yaqoubi Praises Ghaus E Azam

Take the drink of love
It is indeed your medicine and cure
And walk the way to be nearer
To the people of this quarter
Be absent from all the universe
And fold remoteness in distance
Protect this secret from all
Save the people of this quarter
Negate the other oh man
And annihilate to all forms
Witness the transparency of the wine
You will then enter this quarter.

Our words are divine gifts
Our silence is merely a cover
Our door is open for anyone
Who is heading to this quarter
Our tastes are delicacies
Our secrets are of the essence
Our moves when we shake
May wake the dead of this quarter
The Lord made us stand
At His Door for a year
He then said
Who’s more entitled other than you to this quarter
When we entered the house
And the cup went around
And all worries were removed
No one of us remained alive
Indeed all other than Him
Are perishing no doubt
There is not anyone there but Allah
Loved by the people of this quarter
Witness His Unity
In the unity of the existence
And do not see existent beings other than Him
But a shadow.

In the Hadith of the Shadow
There is indeed a secret that should not be averted
By Allah I swear
Nothing alongside Allah will ever last
See His Unity with no incarnation
And stand by at the remains
Act upon what I have said
To witness the beauty of the All-Living
And in the stand of separation
He will let you remain after annihilation
As East is not like the west,
As the dead is not like the living
This is the reality of Tawhid
The only unique meaning of it
There is no way but to grasp it
If you are heading to this quarter.
